A nonprofit professional with over fifteen years of experience, Cynthia Mei most recently served as the Associate Director of Advancement at Children’s Health Council in Palo Alto. In this role, Cynthia orchestrated the organization's annual fund campaigns, engaged major donors, and laid the groundwork for the clinic’s first grateful patient program. Now at UCSF Neurosciences, Cynthia's passion for neurodiversity and her aspiration to leverage neuroscience to enhance the quality of life for individuals underscore her mission-driven approach to her work.
Prior to her tenure at Children’s Health Council, Cynthia held roles including Director of Individual Giving at SFJAZZ, where she spearheaded their Leaders Circle Membership programming through captivating campaigns and donor events. Her tenure at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music as Alumni Relations Officer further showcased her abilities with a revitalization of student alumni programming, managing the Alumni Council, and recruiting new trustees, reflecting her dedication to fostering enduring relationships and driving organizational excellence.
Formerly a professional violinist, Cynthia's journey into fundraising began when she founded an award-winning performing arts nonprofit dedicated to promoting works by American composers and pioneering interdisciplinary music education initiatives. Cynthia was a scholarship recipient at the esteemed Manhattan School of Music, earning both a bachelor's and master's degree in music. Beyond her professional life, Cynthia enjoys spending time with her family and friends.
