Heather Graves, MS MLS has over 20 years of leadership experience working in community based non-profit organizations, healthcare, and outdoor and environmental education, and conservation. She is a thoughtful and collaborative leader with expertise in relationship building and community partnerships. Heather has a proven track record of successful staff development and mentorship along with financial development, fundraising, fiscal management, innovative program design, development, implementation, and evaluation. Heather is known for her strategic vision, collaboration, and having a growth mindset.
She is committed to making an impact in the lives of others and in the natural world through her leadership in her professional work, volunteer service, and by serving on community boards and committees.
Heather most recently served as the Executive Director of Catamount Institute in Colorado Springs. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from Western Michigan University and Master of Science Degree in Management, Leadership and Strategy from Michigan State University.
Outside of work, you will find Heather spending time with her husband Eric, their son Kaden, and family and friends. She enjoys everything in nature and outdoors, especially hiking, kayaking, camping, backpacking, traveling, and gardening.
Heather is excited to return to her home state of Michigan after living in Colorado for the past several years. She looks forward to reconnecting with the local community and serving as the first woman President and CEO of the Kalamazoo Nature Center where her expertise and personal passions align.
