Chase Glenn is an experienced nonprofit executive and LGBTQ+ advocate with over 18 years of experience leading organizations through transformational growth. His career has been dedicated to expanding access, building political power, and driving meaningful change for LGBTQ+ people. Chase most recently served as the Executive Director of the Alliance For Full Acceptance (AFFA), South Carolina’s largest LGBTQ+ advocacy organization, where he led policy and public education efforts, mobilized communities, and strengthened the organization’s impact through the founding of AFFA Action, a separate 501(c)(4) political advocacy organization.
Previously, Chase was the inaugural Director of LGBTQ+ Health Services and Resources at the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), where he advanced healthcare equity by implementing affirming policies, expanding access to competent care, and launching resources tailored to LGBTQ+ patients.
As a transgender man, Chase brings professional expertise and personal experience to his work, fostering empathy, connection, and authenticity in his advocacy. He is also a sought-after public speaker, using his platform to share the lived realities of LGBTQ+ individuals and inspire meaningful action.
Chase is a Liberty Fellow (part of the Aspen Institute Global Leadership Network) and a Furman University Diversity Leaders Initiative Riley Fellow. Originally from Illinois, he holds a B.A. in Religion from Belmont University and an M.A. in Counseling from Webster University. He currently resides in Charleston, South Carolina, with his wife, Colleen, and their two children, but is relocating to Chicago in August 2025.
