National recruitment initiative seeks development professionals to strengthen philanthropic engagement and advance fundraising priorities across UF Health.

CHICAGO, IL – Cooper Coleman LLC is working with UF Health, the University of Florida's academic health center, to conduct multiple development leadership searches as part of a broader effort to strengthen philanthropic capacity across the institution. The initial engagements include an active search for a director of development, grateful patient fundraising, and an upcoming search for a senior director of development for the UF Health Cancer Institute.

UF Health brings together the University of Florida's clinical enterprise, health colleges, and research centers and institutes to advance patient care, scientific discovery, and medical education. Philanthropy plays an important role in supporting these priorities, connecting donors and grateful patients with opportunities to invest in research, clinical innovation, and the next generation of healthcare professionals.

The director of development, grateful patient fundraising will focus on building relationships with patients and families whose experiences with UF Health inspire a desire to give back. Working closely with physicians, researchers, and clinical teams, the director will identify and cultivate major gift opportunities supporting the UF College of Medicine and UF Health. The position is based in Gainesville, Florida, and the national search is currently underway.

Cooper Coleman will also lead the search for the senior director of development for the UF Health Cancer Institute. The incoming leader will serve as the institute's chief fundraiser, working closely with Institute Director Dr. Duane A. Mitchell and UF Health Advancement to develop a coordinated philanthropic strategy. The position will focus on expanding major and transformational giving, strengthening relationships with donors and institutional partners, and advancing philanthropic investment in cancer research, education, and patient care.

"UF Health is doing extraordinary work in patient care, medical research and education, and philanthropy has the potential to accelerate that impact," said Johnny Cooper, Founder and CEO of Cooper Coleman. "These searches represent an opportunity to bring talented fundraising professionals into an institution with tremendous resources, a compelling mission, and ambitious goals for the future. We're excited to support UF Health in building the development leadership needed to advance those priorities."

Both positions call for accomplished fundraising professionals who can build trusted relationships, navigate complex academic and clinical environments, and translate institutional priorities into meaningful philanthropic opportunities.

The director of development, grateful patient fundraising search is accepting applications. Additional information about the senior director of development, UF Health Cancer Institute opportunity will be available when that search formally launches.
