Darra Gordon is a nonprofit executive with more than two decades of leadership experience across LGBTQ+ advocacy, youth services, arts, education, and social justice organizations.
She currently serves as Chief Executive Officer of Family Equality, where she leads the organization’s work to advance legal and lived equality for LGBTQ+ families and those who wish to form them. Previously, Darra served as Deputy President and Chief Operating Officer at GLAAD, overseeing day-to-day operations across development, HR, IT, and finance. During her tenure, she helped guide a period of rapid growth, including significant expansion of the organization’s budget, fundraising capacity, programs, and diversity, equity, and inclusion work.
Earlier in her career, Darra spent more than 15 years at Hetrick-Martin Institute, the nation’s oldest and largest LGBTQ youth service organization, where she helped lead national expansion. She holds degrees from the New School and Lycoming College.
